Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Nagomi collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Nagomi mobile application. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: email address, display name, date of birth, and region.
Chat messages: messages you send to AI companions, stored to maintain conversation history and personalize responses.
Photos: images you voluntarily upload to share with companions, stored securely in cloud storage.
Voice messages: voice notes you record for a companion, transcribed to text so the companion can reply.
Gender (optional): whether you want companions to address you as a man or a woman.
Companions you create: if you use “Create your own”, the details you choose (name, age, personality, description, appearance, voice) and the profile photo you upload for that companion.
Device token: Firebase Cloud Messaging token for push notifications (only if you grant permission).
IP address: processed when you sign in, used to protect your account – rate limiting and detecting sign-ins from a new location. We do not use it to track you across the web.
Purchase information: in-app purchase identifiers for deduplication and subscription verification. We do not store payment details.
Usage data: message counts, interaction scores, and app settings such as notification preferences and sleep schedule.
HiMania link (optional): if you link your account with HiMania, the data described in section 4.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and personalize the App experience, including AI companion responses tailored to your profile.
To send push notifications from companions (only if you have enabled them).
To protect your account and the App against abuse, including rate limiting, detecting suspicious sign-in attempts, and alerting you to logins from a new location.
To keep the App safe, including automated checks of uploaded photos and of the companions you create.
To process in-app purchases and manage subscription entitlements.
To improve the App and fix technical issues.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Services

Google Gemini API (Google): generates companion responses, understands the photos you send, runs automated safety checks (such as detecting explicit images or content involving minors) and powers the companion’s memory search. The relevant messages, images or text are sent to Google for processing. Google Privacy Policy
Groq: transcribes the voice messages you record into text. Only the audio of that voice message is sent. Groq Privacy Policy
ElevenLabs: generates the companions’ voices (voice notes and calls). Only the companion’s text to be spoken is sent. ElevenLabs Privacy Policy
Firebase (Google): used for authentication and push notifications. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat: used to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare R2: used to store companion photos, the photos you send, and the profile photos of companions you create, securely.
Resend: sends account emails (verification, password reset, security alerts). Resend Privacy Policy
Hetzner: European cloud infrastructure provider hosting our application server and PostgreSQL database (account and conversation data).
IP-API (ip-api.com): used to determine the approximate country of a sign-in from your IP address, so we can alert you to logins from a new location. Only your IP address is sent, and only at the moment you sign in. IP-API Legal & Privacy

International data transfers. The AI providers above (Google, Groq and ElevenLabs) may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States. When you chat with a companion, send a photo or a voice message, the relevant content is transferred to them for processing. Your account information and conversation history are stored within the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). We share only the specific content needed to provide these features, and we never sell your personal data. By using the App, you consent to this processing.

4. HiMania Integration (optional)

You can also talk with the Nagomi companions on HiMania, a separate social app. Linking is optional, is only started from Nagomi with your consent, and is confirmed either by your verified email (HiMania only tells us whether a matching account exists – it sends us no other data) or by your HiMania username, accepting the companion’s message request on HiMania and confirming a word.

While the link is active, HiMania sends us:

your HiMania user id, username, display name (only if you made it public) and language;
the messages you send to that companion on HiMania (text; photos, voice and video through links that expire after 1 hour), read receipts and whether push notifications are on;
when you follow or unfollow the companion, and the comments you leave on her posts (with your username) and their deletion.

HiMania never sends us your password, date of birth, IP address, device token, your conversations with other people, your other activity on HiMania or your purchases.

The conversation with a companion on HiMania is stored with your Nagomi account, as part of the same relationship and memory, and is processed by the AI providers above like any other chat. Public interactions (follows, comments, likes) are kept only as short-term context for about 48 hours and are not added to the companion’s long-term memory. The companions’ public replies on HiMania never use anything from your private conversations.

The HiMania General room. Nora also takes part in HiMania’s public General chat room. To do that, HiMania sends us the public messages posted there (the author’s username and HiMania id, the text and what it replies to; photos, voice and video only as a short note, never the files), including messages from people who do not have a Nagomi account. We use them only as short-term context for her replies in the room and do not store them, with one exception: if your HiMania account is linked to Nora, what you yourself write to her in General, and her public reply, may be kept as short-term context for about 48 hours, so she can mention it lightly in your private conversation. It is never added to her long-term memory, and nothing from your private conversations is ever used in the General room.

You can unlink at any time by blocking or deleting the conversation on HiMania, from Nagomi, or by deleting either account. Deleting your HiMania account only unlinks it: the conversation stays with your Nagomi account until you delete that account. See the HiMania Privacy Policy for how HiMania handles your data.

5. Companions You Create

The details and profile photo of a companion you create are stored with your account and used only to run that companion for you. They are checked automatically when you save them, to prevent content involving minors, real people, explicit material or hate. A companion you create has no HiMania account. Deleting the companion permanently deletes its conversation, memory and profile photo.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Photos you send in chat are removed from storage after about 7 days; the companion keeps only a short text description of them as memory. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes all your personal data, conversation history, the companions you created and any HiMania link.

7. Data Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will delete their account immediately.

9. Your Rights

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Delete your account and all associated data via the App's Settings screen.
Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via Settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
